The Isle of Knowledge is more than just a business project. It includes rarely seen dedication and sacrifice by the initial founders, and that means moving the complete staff and their family members to the island of Koločep.

Is there any greater guarantee of the sincere intentions and strong confidence than this readiness by the founders of the Island institute to be full participants in the creation of this project and to become residents of the island?

This is not a business project which could cause any serious dilemmas with the local residents, as there is no environmental pollution, no discontinuity with the traditional way of life, and the project is completely turned towards a symbiosis with the natural environment. Nothing dramatic has happened, other than the fact that Koločep is opening its windows and doors to the world. And not to any world, not to the world of aggressive tourism consumerization and the disregard for traditional values, but the world of the future in which science and knowledge will play a crucial role.

Koločep is part of one of the most beautiful Adriatic archipelagos, just off the coast of Dubrovnik - the world renowned tourism destination -and it deserves more than the spent concept of tourism development in which it loses the permanent values of the Island and turns into a summer fun time resort left to its own devices.
