THE ISLE of KNOWLEDGE is a non-profit institution, founded in the Republic of Croatia in accordance with the law on institutions (O.G. 76/93., 29/97. i 47/99). The main activity of the Institution is the promotion of knowledge and the popularization of science with the consent of The Ministry of Science, Education and Sports.

The Institution's director is Domagoj Račić. The president of the Board and Senior Advisors is Dr. Garret FitzGerald, President of the National University of Ireland and former Prime Minister of Ireland. The founders of the Institution are knowledgebased companies which are interested in the promotion of knowledge and knowledge-based society. The first three founders of the Institution who provided initial funding for the starting up its work are: Multimedia Programs — Markot.tel Ltd., National Genealogy Center Ltd. i Institute for Business Intelligence Ltd.

Additional founders are welcomed and they can join the Institution. According to the article 59 of the law on institutions, all founders of the institution have unlimited responsibility and will be held liable for all its obligations with all assets of the founders and they are trustees of the Institution.
