Tourism in our country is still far from using its full potentials. As many as 91 per cent of foreign guests declare that "holidaying at the seaside" is the main motivation behind their coming to Croatia, and nearly 99 per cent of them describe "bathing and swimming" as the principal activity during their stay in our country. Typical tourist destinations are becoming a matter of the past. Fewer and fewer people are attracted to ordinary places that can hardly be distinguished from hundreds of similar destinations.

Koločep has a rare opportunity to take the “road less travelled”, develop its identity and secure world-wide recognition. The Isle of Knowledge project can hereby provide a crucial contribution.
